After an incredible run with our KOME band 'The BLAZERS', some of us were looking to put together an act that would stand out from the local band scene. An idea arose from that very band scene, as we would check bands out around the area and were amazed at how they literally butchered the music of the EAGLES. The music that we grew up with, that everyone knew all the words to, and as record sales demonstrated, was one of the most popular bands of our generation, so we decided to pay tribute to this phenomenal group. Our objective was to put on an accurate and all inclusive presentation of one of the most popular and praised bands of recent rock and roll history.
After almost two years of searching for the right musicians, obtaining the right equipment, and intense music transcriptions and rehearsals, we set out on a musical journey that toured the US and Canada with a popularity rarely attained by acts of our stature. During one of our performances, we ran into Randy Meisner - former Bassist and Vocalist with the Eagles, who said "You guys are there! You're definitely doing justice to the music."
I am very proud to have been a part of this band, as we all achieved an incredible level of musicianship and personal performance rarely found in this business. Although I was one of the founding members and toured with them for 5 years, I and my fellow guitarist, Robert Joy, found it time to move on, so with a few months notice for the band to find replacements for us, we went out with a bang on July 4th, 1997 at the Napa County fair in Calistoga, in which my parents were able to attend - and I've got to say, that was a very difficult show for me as it was such an incredible show, topped off with fireworks!
I am glad to say that the band is still active and performing all over the country - in fact, I have filled in for them a few times over the years, and was a part of the 1st annual performance at the dedication of the Winslow, Arizona concert in honor of the Eagles song "Take It Easy", which is their claim to fame.
